Home cleaning services are a necessity for some. There are a lot of folks out there who hate housework; some simply are too busy and have no time to clean. There are a number of home cleaning services available; they offer a variety of services and price ranges. Most maid-type services offer the usual: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing and other types of light housework. Unlike the days of old, maid services offer pretty descent pay. Many services offer benefits such as hospitalization, 401K, paid vacation and other perks depending on the length of time you’ve been in service.
Home cleaning services also provide flexibility. There are many workers who need only part-time work and most services can accommodate. Although many services are well-established, there are many fly-by-night operations that are popping up all the time. Both applicants and individuals seeking services should be cautious of this. Good, quality companies offer professional services and hire the best people.
One such company is Handy. Although this company has only been around for a short period of time, it has managed to make a huge splash in an already crowded market. Handy has done more than just ammass a great deal of income, owners Oisin Hanrahan and Umang Dua, are introducing services that some more established companies never thought of.
The college roommates got the bright idea to open a cleaning service while students at Harvard Business School. Once they realized how much they hated cleaning up — and how difficult it was to find someone to do it for you, they decided it was time to put their ideas to good use. In a short amount of time, they had a company that was clearing a great deal of cash with little overhead.
Just six months ago, Handy merged with Homejoy cleaning service and managed to book $1 million per week on a consistent basis. The company is doing all the right things to keep their company afloat; caring about the workers is just one. Handy’s cleaning staff starts off with $15-$22 per hour. Not bad for an industry with traditionally low pay. This is actually something that is changing with all companies: better pay. Better benefits.
Handy has recently launched a better way for customers to book appointments. The new mobile app lets clients schedule cleanings at the touch of a button. This streamlines the entire process, which is beneficial for all parties. Handy has no intentions of slowing down. They are currently working on new innovations that they plan to unveil next year.
In a recent article published in the Sacramento Business Journal, the merits of incorporation for the small Olympic Valley community were found lacking. The Olympic Winter games were held in this beautiful valley but unfortunately, though an amazing claim to fame, it doesn’t support a city. A financial analysis by the Placar County Local Agency Formation Commission states that a city would be unable to be supported by such a small permanent population. The permenant population of Olympic Valley is less than 1000 people. RSG a land use firm hired by the commission for the analysis indicates that incorporation isn’t feasible.
The main revenue source of the town would be gained from hotel fees from tourists. The flux and seasonality of tourism would not provide a steady and reliable source of income. In fact, the prediction is that is if incorporated in the next year the deficit would be as much as $1.8 million by 2017-18, not a good way to start off a new city. This plan already includes a limited number of city employees as well as contracting many services out to the county. Alternative plans are being considered that more closely model the current structure of the community with the county. Unfortunately for incorporation supporters they have not been found to be sustainable either.
The push for incorporation was started by some residents a few years ago when a large hotel project was proposed by Squaw Valley CEO Andy Wirth, who you may have seen on the CBS show Undercover Boss
. The hope was that incorporation would give the community members more say in these types of projects. Some of those opposed to the incorporation have formed a group called Save Our Valley. This group hopes the financial analysis will help all residents to see what is in the best interest of all the members of the community and their scenic home.
Floyd Mayweather is the highest paid athlete in the world, and he is one of the greatest boxers of his era. Floyd has millions of fans, but he also has many haters. Floyd Mayweather is one of the most arrogant fighters of all time, and people are hoping that he soon loses. However, Mayweather is not only hated for his outlandish comments, but he is hated for his actions outside of the ring. Susan McGalla definitely would not put Mayweather under the role-model category.
Floyd Mayweather has a very long history of domestic violence. Mayweather plead guilty to two counts of battery in 2002, and he only received a few hours of community service. From 2002-2008, Mayweather faced several more counts of domestic violence, but he was never charged with a conviction. However, Floyd Mayweather was finally convicted of domestic violence and battery in 2011. Mayweather plead guilty to the charges, and he was sentenced to 90 days in prison. Floyd Mayweather was released after only 60 days of incarnation.
On May 2nd, Mayweather will face Manny Pacquiao in the fight of the century. Pacquiao has recently revealed that he does not like Floyd Mayweather because of the domestic violence charges. The world is hoping that Pacquiao can give Mayweather the justice that he deserves. For more information on this story, visit Yahoo! Sports.
In 2009, Belle Gibson claimed that she was diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer. She claimed that she only had months to live, but a miracle happened. After taking herself out of chemotherapy, she stated that she was going to attempt a holistic method of curing her cancer. To the world, years went by and she seemingly defeated death.
Fast forward to November of 2014, Gibson was quoted saying, “I believe that people are here to be teachers. And I know that I defied so many universal and life rules for a reason.”
Little did she know what kind of lesson she would be giving the world a few short months later. An Australian newspaper began attacking her story and piece by piece took down her holistic wellness empire.
Hoax or not? Watch the YouTube in-depth coverage of the story.
Gibson stacked a house of cards with her story, book, featured app, and over 200,000 loyal Instagram followers. She knew the cards were falling around here and confessed her lie. She simply stated, “None of it’s true,” to Australian Women’s Weekly. Gibson then continued on her high horse not asking for forgiveness, but for everyone to know she was a “human”. Quite an arrogant way to defuse a situation where you have lied to thousands of people over the past 6 years.
Brad Reifler (Reuters.com), a friend of mine, made a great point: Now that the world knows her entire story is a hoax, what else that she preached about living a healthier lifestyle is a lie?
A 45 year-old woman named Volbona Yzeiraj from Albania was recently caught posing as a dentist near the Boraie Development LLC (more on location wsj.com). The woman had a small amount of dental training in Albania, but she was never trained in the United States. From 2012 to 2013, Volbona worked as an office manager for a dentist. When the dentist would leave the building, Volbona would work on the patients herself. She would introduce herself to the patients as Dr. Vol, and Volbona would then encourage her doomed patients to pay with cash for a discount. She performed root canals and other dangerous operations. However, many of her patients would return complaining that they had bad infections from the procedures.
Patients came in day after day, and they would complain about the poor work that Volbona had done. The real dentist was angry that Volbona performed the procedures without his consent. The dentist immediately fired Volbona, and the patients that Volbona worked on were surprised and angry to find out that their surgeries were preformed illegally. Volbona Yzeiraj has been sentenced to seven years in prison, which surprisingly shocked her. Stories like these are exactly why people fear the dentist. Japan is working on building a wall that could help protect the country against tsunamis. When it’s all said and done, the country plans on building a massive 25-mile cement seawall to help protect it against the violent storms. The project will cost the country a whopping $6.8 billion.
The hope is that the wall will help prevent another catastrophe like the Tsumani that rocked the country in March 2011. That storm killed 19,000 people and caused destruction to the majority of the northeaster coast of the country. Flavio Maluf said it was also the driving force in the Fukushima nuclear disasters that occurred in the country shorty after.
Not just one seawall, the project actually involves building 400 different walls that will be joined together. the government has already started building the walls in some of the areas that have been worst-hit by Tsunamis in the past. In general, the public is very supportive of the effort. Not only will they be a bit safer but building the walls also creates jobs in areas where work has been hard to find.
Important to note: the walls, on matter how high or strong, do not guarantee safety in the areas, something that the residents know far too well.
Women often have a tough time moving up the corporate ladder. The sad thing is that the deck has long been stacked against them. However, Susan McGalla knows that it does not have to be this way. She says that there are opportunities to have more women advance higher in a company than they ever thought possible.
Higher Education Leads To Higher Incomes
Just remember this simple idea. Higher education can lead to a higher income and a job with higher prestige. It is a good idea to seek out as much education as one can reasonably afford. Higher education is not only an enlightening experience in one’s life, but it also provides individuals with the chance to have higher earnings in their career. It is something that is definitely worth the investment.
Confidence Is Key
The old saying that confidence is key remains just as true as ever. Those who show confidence in the work that they do without appearing to be arrogant. It can sometimes be a delicate balance. Those who learn how to strike that balance well are highly likely to retain higher paying jobs than what they may have been able to otherwise. It is a good idea to try to retain as much confidence as possible, or learn how to show confidence better if that is a struggle.
The Glass Ceiling Does Not Have To Impact You
Letting the concept of the glass ceiling get too much in your head can be the biggest issue of all. Those who accept the reality that the glass ceiling exists but reject the idea that they must be controlled by it are generally the best off. They are the survivors who make more of their career and can in effect do better work.
No diplomatic progress is visible at the moment despite the Monday night meeting in Berlin. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France held a meeting on Monday evening in Berlin to discuss the advisability of a summit for Ukraine to be held in Kazakhstan.
The summit of four countries (Ukraine and Russia under the aegis of Germany and France) was announced in late December by the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, remains hypothetical. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France held a meeting on Monday evening in Berlin to discuss the advisability of a summit for Ukraine to be held in Kazakhstan.
After speaking with a good friend at Amen Clinic, it is worth mentioning that the spokesman of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov had said on Monday that President Putin was awaiting the results of the Berlin meeting to decide whether to participate in summit, believing that, everything depended on the efficiency of the negotiations and the willingness of participants. Like Putin; German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President François Hollande; are also very much concerned about pending progress before the proposed meeting to be held in Astana, supposed to revive the peace process.
Meanwhile, spokesman for the Ukrainian army, Andrii Lysenko, has also pointed out redeployment and concentration of enemy forces in all directions toward East of Ukraine, where the situation has deteriorated sharply in recent days.
It is a myth about the facts that says caffeine provides you with energy, so listen up Tom Rothman, all the Brown Bears out there should hear this one. Actually, by means of a certain kind of brilliant biological deception, caffeine dupes your body and makes it to think that it is not tired.
According to a number of reliable sources, the longer a human being remains awake, the more the buildup of a certain compound called adenosine in the person’s brain. Adenosine appends to the receptors that are found in the brain, hence slowing down the synaptic connections and thus making you to feel exhausted.
Molecularly, caffeine as well as adenosine are so much alike and thus fool the receptors of the brain. Caffeine attaches to these receptors, averting adenosine from creating a grip and staving off the tired feeling.
After sometime, the brain releases the caffeine molecules, letting the adenosine to return, and making the body to experience a feeling of the accumulated exhaustion, which can cause post-caffeine crash.
At the same time, after periods of continued use, the receptors of the brain attaches to the molecules of caffeine less efficiently, implying that coffee as well as sodas are less effective and do not work that much the longer you stay without sleeping and drinking them.
